UKCERI Conference (UK-India Clean Energy Research Institute)

Volunteered for the joint Indo -UK conference held at IISc. One of the visions for this conference aligns with my research area, which is "Investigation on the effect of massive PV generation on grid dynamics". I was introduced to all the clean energy work being done under this consortium and had the very people involved in those works to give the details. Also people from industry were present for the event with their work presentations. It was a very learning experience about both industry and academia. Also we are looking to collaborate in the future.

In the left picture, I am anchoring in the conference and the right one is from the lab visit by the delegates from UK.

For this event we presented the prototype for "Non- Intrusive load monitoring". In this prototype we were able to segregate the loads, just by measuring the combined energy at the entry point of the demo house. Also an app was integrated with the demo to provide remote control of the house appliances. We made it till the semi-finals and were awarded the cash prize for INR 12000.

IISc's Challakere Campus Visit

The Challakere campus is the extended part of IISc where testing for different types of solar panels is being conducted. Along with that different types of Concentrated solar power plants are also put up there. We did the site testing for the Non intrusive load monitoring algorithm at this campus. In the picture below parabolic solar collector is present.
